Descriptive Essay About The Holiday
The Attic One chilly fall day, 14 year old Emma, and her entire family had just boarded a plane to move to Dublin Ireland. Emma was not excited because she didn't want to move away from her friends back in new york, but she had no other choice. One of the main reasons she didn't want to leave was she her best friends. She ended up convincing herself that she could make friends anywhere, it was only a matter of time. As soon as they arrived in Ireland, her parents left to go rent a car while the four children waited. Emma's two older brothers, 15 year old Joey, and 17 year old Jackson, told Emma, and the 4 year old littlest sister, Zoey, some horrifying news. "Hey guess where we are staying! In a 100 acre castle, and the castle isn't any normal castle... it's haunted." Joey whispered in an annoying voice that he always did purposely to scare us. Zoey grabbed Emma's hand and nervously looked up at Emma then Jackson chimed in as he always did. "Yeah it used to be a hospital for dying children in the early 1800's, apparently, over 500 people died in that very castle." Jackson gave out a creepy smile, the twisted kind you only seem to see in scary movies. Little Zoey grabbed Emma's hand even tighter. Allen 2 "Stop It, let's just go already, stop trying to scare us it's not going to work, and anyway, we uh, don't believe in that stuff." Emma shouted towards them in a frustrated voice stomping her foot against the cold icy ground. The four

My Holiday– Personal Narrative
This was the boarding day itself, the day which I had been dreading for weeks but also ecstatic about. The day started early for me, getting up at four in the morning due to the fact that I couldn't sleep that night. I felt mixed emotions as I was lying in bed, I was extremely excited for my vacation to Hong Kong since it was going to be my first ever holiday abroad. The fact that I would be flying on an aeroplane as well also made me feel petrified. The thought of around 60 people on an aircraft approximately 8,000 metres above sea level, on a plane that could catch on fire at any moment was absolutely terrifying and I was also told by my parents that the flight...show more content...
We then set off to the airport and the journey in the cramped car wasn't that thrilling but I decided to take my mind off the foul smell and think more about my five day vacation.
I heard from my friends that there would be loads of shopping for me to do at the airport so I could take my mind of things then as they knew I was anxious to go on the plane. Unexpectedly something suddenly vibrated in my front pocket.
"You don't have to buy anything for me, just come back safely." It was a mobile phone message I received from my friend. It seemed to be the same idea that I got from my family as well. Nobody was expecting anything from me and my mum but to merely come back safely.
"Flight BA616 will be leaving shortly, please could all passengers be at the boarding gate number 33, this will be the last warning."
A lady was calling our boarding gate number and it was time to enter the plane, her voice was gentle and soothing and it calmed my nerves down as we were walking towards the gate, I could finally see our plane and it was gigantic!! My anticipation grew as my mum lead the way to our seats and I released we were walking quite a long way to the back of the aircraft, then we arrived and we had reserved the two window seats near the back of the plane. I had never imagined it

Kuala Lumpur
Escape the freezing weather and enjoy a tropical Christmas at Kuala Lumpur. The event is broadcast live on public as well as private TV stations. In addition, private organizations also hold New Year's countdown parties, with the most noteworthy ones held at The Curve, Changkat Bukit Bintang, and KLCC Park. The most glamorous celebration is the fireworks display at the Petronas Towers.
Mumbai
Since Mumbai has a relatively large percentage of Christians, there are many churches that hold religious services during Christmas time. The streets are lit up and numerous restaurants such as Yauatcha, Copa, Serafina hand out free vouchers and gifts.
The biggest public celebration of New Year in Mumbai is at India Gate, where there is a beautiful fireworks display. Apart from this, five star hotels hold grand countdown parties at their venue. However the general populace celebrates the New Year by holding private parties among family and friends or the youth celebrate at bars and clubs with friends.
The breathtaking scenery just swept me off my feet. The pavements, trees and even the vehicles by the roadside were covered under the thick layer of snow. As I walked down the streets, the refreshing winter breeze blew against my face. It was like a dream come true. I was in Japan, the country I have wanted to visit all my life. That December holiday, my parents finally decided to bring the family for a holiday in Japan.
When we arrived there, the first thing that struck me was the scenery, it was just unbelievably beautiful. It was winter already and I clung tightly onto my winter jacket as we waited for the coach to the ski resort. I never thought I could ever experience winter and witness such gorgeous landscape, that I could only once...show more content...
We then set out to the ski mountain, sadly, till then we had not seen the snow falling. Nonetheless, my siblings and I were still excited about the skiing experience. It was something we had wanted to try since young.
When we first got onto our skis, we could not really balance and went sliding down the slope involuntarily. Luckily we started at the bottom of the beginners slope thus it was not that steep. It was another agonizing task to try standing up after falling down. It was entirely different from how I imagined. I thought we could just stand up the way we usually do after a fall but it was 10 times harder on skis. Of course, we all learn through experience and by dawn, we were already skiing down at a speed we never thought we could achieve. To have conquered, the beginners' mountain without lessons within a day was an achievement that we were all proud of.
As the days ends earlier in Japan, it was dark by the time it was 5pm. We had no choice but to stop for the day. We went back to our Japanese style hotel rooms which had individual "onsens" which means hot springs in Japanese. As we walked down the street for dinner, there were brightly lit Christmas decorations as well as the little snowmans built by passers–by.
Then, a snowflake fell. It was finally snowing! I jumped up in excitement and started hopping around in joy. The sight was indescribable.

The plane landed on the runway as the tires began to spin on the pavement as everyone on the plane lurched forward. As the passengers filled out of the plane with carry–ons the hot sun blinded the passengers as they quickly reached for their sunglasses as they eagerly parted their ways to start their tropical vacations there was a sudden disturbance among passengers. A loud sharp scream from women in the back. She was digging through her purse which was on top of her Louis Vuitton Luggage set. As a search through her purse secretary rushes toward her sides but suddenly realize her scream was only that her lipstick was a little melted because of the heat. Me and my older cousins drag the box outside onto the front porch. As I begin to open the box my hands started trembling. I couldn't tell if my hands were shaking from the excitement or because it was five degrees outside. It took us two hours to put the hoop together. Our lips felt like icicles we were numb from head to toe, but it was worth every moment. It was the most beautiful basketball hoop I ever seen. It was candy apple red and the backboard had lights on it just in case I wanted to play in the dark. I thought Santa Claus gave me the coolest gift in the world. Later on in the evening I use to enjoy sitting in our cozy living room while, the fireplace was burning sipping on hot cocca and scoff down ginger bread cookies we made the night before. My family was always exchanging jokes. My brother Tito and my sister Titania love joking around, but my brother was a lot funnier than my sister. He was the jokester in the family. I remember this one particular joke my brother said about my aunt. He said she had a temptation hair style. I was hollering it was so funny because when you looked at her hair it did remind you of the singer group the Temptation. You would of thought she was a member of the group. I was laughing so hard tears were running down my face and I urinated a little on myself . My brother always made holidays so much fun. Christmas was very special to me because the feast my mother

The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand causing a beautiful and relaxing sound. With flapping wings and squawking noises, seagulls were stalking tourists in the search of food. The soft, hot sand was soothing to the touch. Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline.
Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR. These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion.
The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her lungs. Policemen arrived on the beach and began to push back the imaginary boundaries surrounding the circle of lifeguards. The police advised everyone to leave the beach

Celebration of St. Patrick's Day was to remember Maewyn Succat, who spread Christianity throughout Ireland. St. Patrick's Day started when a boy, at age 16, was kidnapped into slavery and brought to Ireland. While there he learned the religion of the Druids. He later escaped, but then later came back to Ireland because of a supposed vision from God calling him back to Ireland. As soon as he returned, he started telling everyone about Christ, using their sacred Celtic symbols and turning them into symbols of Christianity. For example, the three leaf clover, which symbolized the balancing of forces, was used to describe the Trinity. After this event the Irish made Maewyn Succat a bishop and gave him the name Saint Patrick after his death. Surprisingly, the celebrating of St. Patrick's Day was not really enforced in Ireland, but was more enforced when Irish emigrated to America. Today we dye rivers green, have parades, set leprechaun traps, and wear green.

Descriptive Essay About A Holiday
As far has holidays go, the Navy likes to celebrate them early to gather everyone together before we each take leave (vacation time). They were throwing a holiday party in early December. I'm new. I want to meet more people. I want to win a prize. So, I buy tickets. Me and a few of my friends are going to go if for no other reason than to maybe win a new xBox. The party itself was fun. We got to see everyone outside of their uniform which may surprise you. I, on the other hand, was less focused on people and more on extending these festivities. One of my friends that I work with invites me to a house party. I walk in the house. There's music being played off someone's iPhone, an indoor and outdoor beer pong table, shot glasses sticky with the aftermath of drunk toast with strangers, and a shit ton of people. I find my friend, ECK, and he hugs me with a beer pong ball in his hand. "There's someone I want to introduce you to." He guides me towards the couch. "This is Kyle," he points. I take one look at Kyle and turn into a puddle of mush. He gets up to shake my hand, but I just hug him instead. What can I say...I'm a hugger. We both nervously laugh and I force myself to walk away. People approach me to say hello and catch up on work, but something about our innocent conversations and actually seeing him has me peering over people to see what he's doing. The weeks that followed morphed together. Kyle, the sailor I was sponsoring, was place in a different work center so I

However nowadays the habits and ideas of people have changed very much and Christmas becomes more of the global holiday when it is appropriate to meet with many friends and go out for the round the night crazy celebration. Every person finds his own most favorite things about Christmas. In this small essay I will examine what this holiday means to me, and what are the best parts of it that I personally enjoy. As for me, the best thing about Christmas is that special feeling in the air that is giving every person happiness and hope for the better future in the next year.

The celebration of Christmas is a special moment itself.
I enjoy the process of preparing for the holiday very much. Our whole family participates in the process. For many years I am responsible for the decoration of the house. I like putting the Christmas toys on the tree and lighting the candles. Also I go outside the house and see what can be decorated there.
Especially I like when it snows outside. The snow is a symbol of the Christmas; to me it is also a symbol of the renewal and cleanliness of the upcoming event. In addition the streets are simply decorated already when it is snowing outside. In conclusion I would like to summarize the factors that make Christmas a particularly interesting and great holiday.
First of all, I enjoy the unique atmosphere of the holiday. The feeling that is present in the air at those days cannot be compared to anything else. The feeling of Holy joy and happiness arises every living thing to do good and kind things. The second thing that attracts me the most about the holiday is that during these days every person somehow goes back to the childhood. The presents under the Christmas tree along with congratulations from everyone in the street allows the person to feel himself young and full of strength, like in the days of youth when everything was possible and no worries could frighten him. The last but not least thing about

The Holidays Usually when I get into the holiday spirit when Halloween comes around. The movies, haunted houses, and the candy especially. I don't really enjoy the scary movies, but I do like getting scared. I guess it's all the like the way they kill them is something I don't want to see. Sometimes I guess scary scenarios for some reason, like thing that would happen in Final Destination.I don't like dressing up but I do like everything else. It's because I'm very lazy and I don't feel like dressing up. I'll do everything else, but I don't want to dress up. When I was little in elementary I used to dress up, then as the year goes by I would just grab random things and be the most randomest things, until a group of my friends decided to dress up like Pretty Little Liars, which is pretty much all black. I remember that year I went to trick or treat with them and it rained. We were walking in the rain with our bags of candy. We walked through a bunch of streets and hardly anyone was out. It's was kinda lame, but at least the houses that did have candy gave out a lot. After we finished trick or treating we sorted out our candy and traded them. Halloween isn't my most favorite but I still find ways to enjoy it. After Halloween there come Thanksgiving. I eat my way out of Thanksgiving, although it sucks for having a small appetite. I tend to grab a lot of food and end up not eating it all. I love the ham my grandma makes with the stuffing and the stuffing. My grandmas sister

The next ride waiting in the creepy shadows was the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster. The Spooky Coaster is a $13 million indoor rollercoaster ride inspired by the feature film shot at Warner Roadshow Movie World Studios on the Gold Coast. In this ride you enter the creepy dimly lit courtyard and move into the heart of Spooky Castle where ghouls, gargoyles and an odd talking suit of armor jump out of the shadows to scare you!. The coaster cars are carefully replicated from the movie Scooby – Doo, the ride launched us on a hair–raising journey complete with laser lighting and sound effects, animatronics and a kaleidoscope of colour, depth, height and trickery of dimension. I rated this as extreme on the thrill meter.
It was now 6:25 and as the park closes at 7:30 the last show of the Hollywood stunt driver was about to start in 5 minutes. From the moment we entered the arena of Hollywood Stunt Driver we were immersed in a real–live action 'working' movie set. This purpose built and designed arena was the backdrop for what can only be described as brilliant blockbusting movie action from start to finish. Incorporating breathtaking stunts, precision driving, incredible scenes of exhilarating action and the performance of a cast and crew with immeasurable talent, we didn't want to miss a second of this action packed extravaganza! For a full 30 minutes drivers performed their death defying stunts, and like any good movie we wanted to see it again and

Thanksgiving is the holiday for family gatherings. Air travel analysts have coined it the "most traveled holiday" of the year. People may head to the mountains or the beaches at christmas but gathering at grandma's for that coveted feast of thanks is high on the family priority list. But not all is as blissful as the famous Norman Rockwell portrayed. Family can equal stress, lots of stress. All that traveling makes for weary, cranky guests. Then there is the overcrowded accommodations, unequal division of chores and the dreadful family gossip. So many aspects of this holiday can leave one overwhelmed and contemplating the true meaning of giving thanks.
Packing for the holidays away from home can be a chore within itself. Many things need to be taken into consideration. One needs to be informed of the weather conditions to assure proper attire. Many times there are also children and others in the family that need assistance with this. Also you need to consider if you will be spending a lot of time outdoors. If your family plans a black friday shopping trip you could find yourself in long lines out in the cold morning air. Perhaps Grandma will be sending you out to fetch the christmas tree or assist in the delightful chore of outdoor holiday house decorating. In any case, obviously a great deal of thought needs to go into the packing process.
Next comes the dreaded chore of carrying the luggage and family to ever pleasant airport. The day is filled with all the wonderful
