Homemade Pasta Essay
Pasta holds a special place in our memories of childhood. Even if you didn't grow up Italian, chances are you remember eating long strands of spaghetti and slurping up the sauce as you went. Pasta is made of simple ingredients: flour, eggs, olive oil and water. Don't let the simplicity of the ingredients fool you into thinking that commercially made pasta is no different from homemade. Homemade pasta is true comfort food and easy to make. In our house, the making of pasta becomes a collaboration. There is something for everyone to do, no matter how young or how old. And the fruits of our labors end up in a wonderful family dinner that we all enjoy together.
The key to making great pasta is to get the dough to the right consistency and then
Family Definition
Beliefs about Definition and Membership Regarding Family
Family is a group of people who are related by blood, marriage, or adoption. This is the definition adopted by the U.S. government, and I believe it is the most accurate. Family holds a sense of commitment over time. This excludes friends, significant others, and pets. Friends may come in and out of your life, especially after moving or significant life transitions. Boyfriends and girlfriends are open to walk away once the relationship is not going as they would like since there is not the commitment of marriage. Yet, family is bound by one of the initial criteria through all stages and circumstances of life. You may have very close friends that feel like family, but the feeling along...show more content...
I like pictures, videos, demonstrations, anything that will help me to visualize concepts. I can remember things much better if I have a way to see it in my mind, whether than is visioning the spelling of word when I try to write it or thinking of a concrete example that goes along with the concept. I think that my instinct would be to teach this way as well because that's what works for me.
As I mentioned, using visuals is very helpful for me. But more than that, I think that practicing what I am learning is the best way for me to understand something. For example, if I am learning about how to knead bread, it is helpful for me to watch a demonstration first, but then I need to physically knead the bread in order to put the entire concept together. Watching alone only gets me part way there. I would really like to use a more kinesthetic, hands on approach in my own classroom someday. I like to be up and active and having others do things along with me, and I think most people learn well doing hands on activities. I would incorporate other helpful methods along with using movement, though. I know for myself that I need that visual guidance first, whether that is watching someone or even reading instruction, but if I just listen to someone explain the process, I most likely will miss a lot of key pieces of information. So, my goal would be to use both visual and auditory elements to introduce
Women Are Not Born But Made
Women are not born but made. Nowadays we celebrate women's day but there are many situations we had come through to this position and space Punjabi women occupy nowadays, and comparing it to the times 60 years ago. The age of my grandmother. When the country had just got independence. When the women are participating in nationalist movements were being pushed into the domestic household works.
There have been innumerable debates about gender in (Banerjee 2012) Punjab over last 60 years. Most of them were about women's positions in society, their education, health, economic status, gender equality. What we can conclude from these discussions is that how women have always held a certain contradictory position in our developing country in past years. In recent years women held a very less respectful position . they were not treated as human. On other hand, Punjab has an increased percentage of literacy among women . now women are allowed to enter into professional fields now. However, in the 1950s my grandmother tells women were just made to do household chores. They were not allowed to get higher education or even go out without the permission of parents. They were supposed to be at home . while on the other hand the practices of female foeticide, poor health conditions and lack of education persisting still continue. Even the supportive ideology of the home being women's real domain and marriage being her ultimate destiny has not changed much in last 60 years.

Cultural Beliefs And Customs In American Culture
Cultural beliefs and customs may influence a patient's perception of health or illness. What seems unreasonable to us as American's may make perfect sense to someone from a different cultural background based on the beliefs and practices in their culture (Chew, Tan, & Ooi, 2011). For example, a young Asian patient came to the ED with symptoms of a viral illness as the nursing staff undressed her they noted symmetrical abrasions along her back. Everyone believed this young lady was a victim of domestic abuse and were ready to call protective services. However, fortunately, there was a physician who had spent time in Asia and understood the practice of "coining". Many Asian cultures practice "coining" which entails rubbing a coin in specific
The Pros And Cons Of Customs Union
The reason I chose Customs Union as my topic is to learn more about how members or potential members of a union establish an agreement that benefit all parties. I find it interesting that members of a union are able to influence one another's economic growth, competition and how they can complement one another as well. Having a common trade policy among a group of members and removing all barriers of trade can play a significant role in the success of a business. It saves a lot money, and could be a competitive advantage over competitors. Countries of a union joining can also impact its position in a global market, as well as help the country economically. The ability for a group of countries to come together and help each other is fascinating, and is why I chose to explore this topic more.
EXPLANATION OF KEY TERM
The third stage of Economic Integration is Customs Union. According to the Encyclopaedia of Britannica, Customs Union is a "trade agreement by which a group of countries charges a common set of tariffs to the rest of the world while granting free trade among themselves" (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2010). Customs Union is free–trade zone with common external tariffs; which helps increase economic efficiency and allows for signatories to establish political and cultural ties. Tariff barriers make it difficult for some countries to sell products in a foreign country because of the additional taxes on imported goods, which is a price advantage to members of a
Military Customs and Courtesy Essay
Today's Army in an extremely nostalgic organization with a copious amount traditions and has about a million different methods of conducting its business. Some are old and some are new, but possibly the oldest one that has been around since before the Army was officially established and still lives today is the Army's rules, regulations and policies on customs and courtesies. In this form of a remedial block of instruction given to me, due to what I believe to be false targeting, I am to explain the Army's customs and courtesies and their importance.
Customs and Courtesies are among the main fundamentals of military life, the other being the Seven Army Values, upon which Soldiers are expected to live and rely upon both on and off duty....show more content...
A leader unwilling to sacrifice individual goals for the good of the unit cannot convince other unit members to do so. The mission suffers with potentially devastating effects. While personal goals often coincide with Army goals, there is no room for personal agendas at the expense of the institution or the American people. It is a standard in the hierarchy of military customs and courtesies that the leader must display to his subordinates that he is willing to put in extra effort, sacrifice personal time, and show initiative and motivation in order to achieve the same from his Soldiers.
Tardiness is not tolerated in the military. It reflects inattention to duty. In addition to being extremely impolite, on active duty, it is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Never keep a senior officer waiting because of your forgetfulness or lack of planning. If an unexpected event delays you, call ahead and give an explanation. The same rule applies to appointments and meetings you have arranged with subordinates. Don't keep them waiting. If your subordinates think of you as a "latecomer," you have not set a good example for them.
In today's society, some people resign themselves to just getting by. Because we've been entrusted with our nation's security and a good portion of the national treasury –– because our mission often involves the risk of human life and sometimes national survival
Essay Human Culture
Culture
Culture is a learned behaviour made up with a shared set of; values, norms and beliefs which are governed by a sense of tradition and shared history that gives us a common identity. Since human beings are virtually identical biologically, as individuals our different characteristics can be explained and expressed through our human behaviour through symbolic representation. Our perception of the World around us can also influence our culture. For example; what we perceive or interpret as good or bad reflects on our morals, values and what we are willing to accept, allow and stand up against. Interculturalists mention that there is a range of culture such as; gender, age, religion, regional and class culture (Garson, 2002). This suggests that people from the same or similar back ground integrate with individuals who share or have the same ethnics, social class, age and religion. This can be related to typical high schools in the USA , where the upper class or 'rich kids' group themselves into the cheerleading team or the football team whereas those from middle class back rounds are either the 'nerds' or trying to fit into High school life. In the same way people consciously join groups with those who share interests as them in order to feel comfortable with a sense of identity and belonging.
My culture reflects the various ways I express myself, however throughout my childhood I had a different culture that was more traditional and now that I am my own individual I have grown and been influenced by enlightened ideas and theories. Due to this I am able to make my own choices, opinions and decisions in
How The World Was Made Creation Myth
Creation Myth A creation myth is a narrative that says how the world became and how people came to inhabit the earth. A regular myth is known to be fake, but people actually believe creation myths. In the story "How the World Was Made", it is explained how the Indians believe the earth became. The earth is explained to be an island with four cords attached that hang from the sky vault. If the cords were to ever break, the island would fall into the ocean and never return. The Indians are afraid of this happening. "How the World Was Made" is a creation myth considering that it follows all of the criteria of a creation myth; describes how the universe, earth and life began, explains the workings of the natural world, and supports and validates...show more content...
Because the sun was too close at one time, the Red Crawfish's shell was scorched and his meat was spoiled. Therefore, the Cherokee did not eat the raw meat. When the animals and plants were first made they were told that they had to stay awake for seven nights. Only the owl, panther and one or two other animals were able to stay awake, therefore, they were given the power to be nocturnal. Only a few trees were able to stay awake and the ones who did not would lose their leaves in the winter. When men came after the plants and animals, the brother hit his sister with a fish and told her to have a child. In seven days she had a child and every seven days she had a child until it got dangerous. "And they increased very fast until there was danger that the world could not keep them." ("How the World"). Therefore, it was made that a woman could have only one child per year. In conclusion, this story is a creation myth. There are a lot of occasions in this story that would not happen in real life. For example, the buzzard can not make valleys or mountains while flying. It is not possible to have a child in seven days after being hit with a fish or even having a child every seven days. Finally, this story is making the earth sound like it is a seed. If one were to do scientific research or read the bible they would soon know that the earth is not a seed but a home for
Homemade Food Is The Best Choice
Cooking and eating is always fun, especially homemade food. Food is one of the primary necessities of humans and also plays a vital role in maintaining good health. People work hard to eat; it does not matter if it is healthy or not, but healthy eating prevents a variety of health problems. For some people eating is an option, but for others they live to eat. People enjoy cooking their own meals; it gives us peace of mind, satisfaction, and a guarantee of cleanliness. Homemade food is always treated as a privilege, especially with our hectic life schedules. Now a days, people seldom cook at home and find a good reason to go out and eat. Talking with people who cook at home, most stated that they make fresh ingredients at home, like grind and powder all seasonings and curries, so it gives the best flavor, taste, and smell. According to British Broad Casting, The World Health Organization recommends greatly reducing the intake of processed foods, because it is not freshly made and people do not know how long it is been in the freezer or what all ingredients in it (World). Eating at our own kitchen table allow us to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables so we can focus on all natural ingredients. Most of the people who cook at home have their own kitchen garden also, so all the vegetables are fresh and organic. This gives us a great satisfaction and peace of mind that it is fresh cooked meals from our own garden to the table. The second reason to eat homemade food is that it helps to improve our health. Before the wide spread availability of fast food restaurants, people always cooked their meals at home; because of this, they were healthier and lived longer. There were not so many diseases like myocardial infarction, diabetes, or hypertension; it is so popular now due to not controlling their diet or eating out all the time. These disease conditions not only affect our health but it also affects our economy. Unfortunately, many young adults or their

How Economic Decisions Are Made
If 10 people with 10 different occupations are asked to define economics, one would receive 10 different answers because the concept of economics confuses people. "Economics is the study of the choices consumers, business managers, and government officials make to attain their goals, given their scarce resources," (Hubbard & O'Brien, 2010, p. 4). Oftentimes, people do not realize how many economic decisions they regularly make. People make daily economic decisions by comparing marginal benefits and marginal costs in conjunction with their current economic market system.

Determining how to produce goods and services can be a situation such as whether General Motors keeps a production plant in the United States in an effort to keep Americans employed or to move production to Mexico to take advantage of reduced labor costs. "In the United States, who receives the goods and services produced depends largely on how income is distributed. Individuals with the highest income have the ability to buy the most goods and services," (Hubbard & O'Brien, 2010, p. 8).
Economic Systems
When studying economics, one quickly learns there is a market for everything and the market drives the economy. "A market is a group of buyers and sellers of a good or service and the institution or arrangement by which they come together to trade," (Hubbard & O'Brien, 2010, p. 4). In an effort to answer the production questions of what, how, and who, as they relate to goods and services, societies arrange their economies in two primary ways. The first way is the centrally planned economy where the government chooses the distribution method for economic resources; the second way is the market economy where households and firms interacting in markets decide the distribution of economic resources, (Hubbard & O'Brien, 2010). The former Soviet Union was the most recognized centrally planned economy; however, Cuba and North Korea's economies also operate in this manner. The United
How Laws Are Made and Classified
This assignment will demonstrate how laws are made and the number of ways in which laws are classified.
Goodey et al. (2008 p.6) states that 'law can be defined as a set of rules created by the state which forms a framework to ensure a peaceful society. If the rules are broken they can be enforced by mechanisms created by the state and sanctions imposed.'
Law is made through constitutions that give people rights but also imposes responsibilities. An example of this is the legal case of Miller v Jackson 1977 QB 966. Although the UK's constitution is unwritten, they can be found in different sources such as Acts of Parliament, Common law and Europe.

This is where the Human Rights Act 1998 stems from. This Act requires the UK Parliament, devolved legislatures and the courts to only create law that complies with the provisions of the ECHR.
Common law comes from case law which are laws developed through the court system. An example, based on negligence is that of Donoghue v Stevenson 1932 AC 562 (HL). The UK has a Common law legal system that covers how all the Civil and Criminal laws are made, used and enforced.
Civil and Criminal law is one of the two types of classifications of law. The difference between these two laws is that Criminal law is in place for the protection of the society as a whole and it provides punishment for those who break those laws. Criminal cases are brought by the Crown Persecution Service (CPS) on behalf of the Crown (state) and they are to maintain law and order and to protect the society. Criminal cases take place in Crown Courts or Magistrate Courts and they must be proven beyond reasonable doubt.
Civil law is used to settle disputes between individuals. Civil cases are brought by a claimant namely an individual, a company or corporation. They are to uphold the individual's rights and to provide redress. Civil cases take place in a Tribunal or Court of Law and only have to be proven on the balance of probabilities.

Columbus Custom Carpentry is a family owned business operating in a niche market of producing semi–custom interior doors for residential applications using mass customization. Founded in 1946 in Columbus, Georgia, the company has been successful thus far by using various jigs and specialized tools to reinvent antique–style doors for their market. Not being competitors in the mass–market, CCC has to focus on producing quality pieces for lower prices in order to keep their customers happy and the annual $15 million in sales. Operating out of four buildings in the Midwest, there are 135 employees split between four areas of expertise: manufacturing, warehousing, administration and marketing. CCC's build–to–order custom manufactures do not have to be sold through big–box stores in order to be successful. The company is able to underprice their replacement antique style doors and still be profitable even while working with lower volumes; thus, they are using a differentiation strategy. However, recently it has been brought to our attention that the company is facing multiple internal and external issues. They have selected our team of HR managers to solve the underlying problems. Traditions Are Important For Our Society
One concept that is present in every culture is tradition, and whether it be secular or religious, they each bring a unique significance to each culture. Nevertheless, traditions are important and somewhat necessary because it helps keep a culture "on its feet" and it provides a sense of identity for people. Traditions may vary from little things like going to your favorite restaurant on a special day like birthdays or family reunion, to big important traditions like eating Kosher in Judaism and the mandatory following of the Five Pillars of Islam. But keeping traditions are so important for our society today because it allows people to honor those who came before them in hopes of improving their culture and make positive contributions to society. This also puts better emphasis on family life and teaches how to strengthen family life through tradition. Although some ceremonies and rituals prevail longer than us, they make us feel part of that larger sense of things as we pass them down to our own children, to their children, and so on. Traditions are important because they are the basis of all knowledge within the realm of a giving culture or religion; however, they can also be sexist in nature, dangerous, or just immoral. Some traditions may even include some influence of gender roles as apparent in the Maori tribe with women being prohibited from positions of leadership and power, and in the Muslim faith where women 's role in society has been subject to controversy and

From first–person shooters to role–playing games, the video game industry has became accessible to nearly every kind of player, whether it be a person who enjoys invigorating storytelling, or somebody who just wants to reduce armies into nothing more than bloody shrapnel. "...developing a 'major' game title can be a significant task – writers, game designers, sound designers, visual artists and more must work together to create the actual game."("The Process of Game Creation & the Game Design Document.") One thing not often taken into consideration, though, is the hard work and dedication that goes into many of the games people play. Every...show more content...
Once the ideas are set, the digital artists begin work on designing the models of the characters in the game, as well as the environments. Character models have animations, such as walking, talking, jumping, or even fighting. Some games use full three–dimensional models, while some choose to use two–dimensional characters, often called "Sprites." The environments are usually made of both interactive and non–interactive elements, and characters are often either player controlled, or non–player controlled. (NPC) Non–player controlled characters can be enemies that may try to obstruct the player, or sometimes, characters that help, or just support the game in some way.
No game is a game if it is not an actual game, with interactivity to it. Therefore, this is where the programmers and designers start developing their controls, game play mechanics, and they begin to refine their idea. Rigorous work, spending night and day is not uncommon, as the game's staff works hard to get the game to play as they want it. Refining and programming a game is as much a part as designing the characters. Some argue it is even more important. In any case, this process is where the designers tweak little things. The way an object bounces off a wall, or how a character is affected by certain actions are
Call Of Duty Zombies Essay
Call of Duty Zombies is a side game mode developed by Treyarch. It was introduced as a game mode after you beat campaign in Call of Duty World at War. Its first map was named Nacht Der Untoten, German for night of the living dead. It was based off the map airfield. It featured a player which survive endless hordes of zombies until they die. They had to get points by killing zombies and rebuilding barriers. With points you could by doors and points. When more maps were made we got perks, drinks that power up the player. The game mode was just for fun until the released the 3rd DLC pack for World at War. The new map Der Riese or The Giant made a story. The Zombies story is interesting topic that just reached a end in 2016 with its final map, Revelations.

We learn that the zombie outbreak started when Richtofen and group 935 try to make an undead army to help the Nazi's win World War II. Instead the test subjects turn against the scientists. Process Analysis: How to build a computer Essay
How to Build a Computer from scratch
Every fully functioning computer is made of the same basic components and here I'll walk through the basic hardware you'll need for your first build. There are several components a computer. However, it's important to first understand what each component does.
The processor (CPU) is like the brain of a computer, the thing that carries out the tasks you give it. Better CPUs can perform more tasks at once, and perform them faster. Not everyone takes full advantage of their processor's full speed, so the high–end processers are only really needed if you're performing intensive things like gaming or video editing. It's also one of the most expensive parts of a computer, so if you aren't doing these...show more content...
Your hard drives are what store all of your data, ranging from your operating system to your documents, music, and movies. If the RAM is your computer's short–term memory, your hard drive is the long–term memory. It stores the things you want to keep around for a while.
An optical drive, more commonly known as a CD or DVD drive is what you'll use to read CDs, DVDs, and even Blu–Ray discs. Not everyone needs an optical drive in his/her computer, but you'll need one to install anything from a disc. The final major component you'll need is the power supply. This does just as the name implies, it powers the computer. Depending on what you plan on using the computer for will determine the "size" of power supply you'll need. Just as I said with picking the case, wait to pick this out until you figure out how much power you'll need.
Now that I've told you about all the components that make up a computer it's time to start deciding which to use. While deciding make sure you read everything because you'll need to make sure everything is compatible. Now that you've bought all your components, it's time for the moment of truth: You're ready to actually put together the machine. Assembling your computer can seem daunting, but it's actually pretty easy. Here's what you need to do.
To start, open up your case's box, take out the case, and
Customary Law
1. INTRODUCTION
Customary law is among other laws the most controversial and as a result raises a lot of questions among legal luminaries. There are whole lots of reasons responsible for these and this research shall take time to address as many of these causes or reasons as possible. To add salt to injury, the few authorities of customary law that still hold sway customary sources (in explaining the inconsistencies of the law of custom) agrees that "all laws are custom but not all custom is the law" This job has been made easier thanks to Dr. B. O. This means that customary law which is not compatible with any existing enactment ought not to be enforced by the courts. The argument is that existing customary laws must not be incompatible with any written law (Obilade 1991). (c) Public Policy Test: This means that a custom shall not be enforced if it is contrary to public policy. The idea of public policy here implies the principle of judicial legislation or interpretation founded on the current needs of the community. Anything that offends morality is contrary to public policy. That is moral values and ideas which are prevalent in a society as a way of preserving its interest. Where a transaction is contrary to the policy of the laws or public policy, the law refuses to enforce or recognize it on the ground that it has a mischievous tendency so as to be injurious to the interests of the state or the community. This law is predicated on the interest, be it welfare, safety or advancement of the society at large.

Things you should never do or say:
Never criticize the Army or a leader in public. Never go "over the heads" of superiors–don't jump the chain of command. Never offer excuses. Never "wear" a superior's rank by saying something like, "the first sergeant wants this done now," when in fact the first sergeant said no such thing. Speak with your own voice. Never turn and walk away to avoid giving the hand salute. Never run indoors or pretend you don't hear (while driving, for example) to avoid standing reveille or retreat. Never appear in uniform while under the influence of alcohol. If you don't know the answer to a superior's question, you will never go wrong with the response, "I don't know sir, but I'll find
Why should you buy products that are made in America? Buying products that are made in America is good for the economy. The product is more safe to be made in America because of American regulations. Buying things from third world countries supports child labor and sweatshops. You should buy products that are made in the U.S.A. It's better for America's economy. Even our current president is trying to help. President Trump is helping in many ways, but one is jobs. If America stops allowing products in from other countries, there will be guaranteed jobs for future generations of people. The unemployment rate is estimated to be at least two percent lower than presently. America's economy will prosper as much as it did after the great depression.
